What are the detrimental effects of children growing up in crowded environments without any
type &/or form of privacy, always living out in the open so to speak & never having a moment to themselves?
I think it creates a difficulty understanding boundaries and an unhealthy acceptance of others crossing personal boundaries, physically, emotionally, and sexually. I think it fosters a weakened sense of self, in which a person is encouraged to feel that she should not feel like a complete and individual person with value. I think the blurring of boundaries can also lead to people not respecting the thoughts, feelings, and bodily integrity of others around them.
Excellent answer! This explains why children from large/very large families have such a low sense of self and are intrusive upon others. Boundaries are foreign to such children. Those who establish boundaries are seen as selfish by them!
