This is the question scientists have kept on asking to themselves....and truely no one knows the answer... not even the American Heart Association. But scientist do know some facts and I would like to share with you.
"Alcohol to be benfecial in heart disease " originated from the french paradox, where people had lower heart disease rate and it was correlated with the red wine consumption, and is popularly known as "French paradox". In terms of alcohol consumption, MODERATION is the key. Scientists do believe that consumption of low amount of alcohol has some benefecial effect on heart and blood vessel, however due its addicitve nature it is not easy for everyone to consume alcohol in moderation.
Rule of thumb, people not taking alcohol are not dying due to heart disease, But people consuming large amount of alcohol do get cardiovascular, gastrointestinal and other disorders.
So, if you do not drink its good, but if you drink, keep it moderate...
I wish this helps.....
Will love to hear your qerries....
