    Why Sunday is considered as a holiday?

    When there are other days, then why Sunday and that is also almost in every country.

    It is considered a holy day. Christian's believe it is the day of rest as the seventh day of the week. By relaxing on the seventh day, Sunday for some religions, you are doing what God did after creating the world, taking a break. Some religions take the seventh day of rest VERY seriously. So be careful were you go at times. Though some religions consider Saturday the seventh day, so they take Saturday off.

    It is a Christian holy day, set aside for rest, in remembrance of God's resting on the seventh day of creation. Originally, this was the Jewish Sabbath, recognized on a Saturday(the last and seventh day of the week). After the death of Christ, He lay in the tomb three days, and was resurrected on the third, which was a Sunday. That is why many Christians observe the day of rest and worship on Sunday. Most of western civilization was founded or influenced by Christianity, so the observance has become traditional, even for those that don't understand it.
