A Hub A Day Challenge

Updated on June 14, 2012

Hubpages : Creating Hubs 30 Day Challenge

This is a hub that I created for my personal challenge of 30 hubs in 30 days. It will run consecutively, from the day I joined, 8-13-2010 ( Lucky Friday the 13th) and 29 days there after.

This is a personal challenge, however feel free to join in the global Hubpages Challenge if you like. I'm new to hubpages and I want to get off to a good start. What better way to do so then participating in a crunch time challenge.

I will update this article everytime I create a new hub. This will give myself some form of accountability. I hope you enjoy!

Read on to see a brief description of the hubs that I've created and how I'm doing along this 30 day challenge.

Hubs vs. Lenses

I have to admit that at first I did not like hubpages. It seem so confusing after making squidoo lenses for a few years now. After revisiting the thought of creating hubs, I'm finding the process very easy and fun.

Using a few techniques that I picked up from blogging, creating articles, and youtube, I can create a lens a day with little to no effort. I plan on doing the same with hubs.

I enjoy writing beauty articles the most because I think that I could literally write a book on it. All you have to do is find your niche and sky's the limit.

I find making hubs, more of a creative outlet then anything else. I can literally get things off my chest about a certain topic or subject without feeling compelled to stay in one arena. If you visit a few of my " love " related hubs you will see that it's another favorite topic of mines. I'm a hopeless romantic.

I have other things that I'm passionate about as well. My youngest son was diagnosed with absence seizures this year. I'm creating a hub to share my experiences with that and his prognosis . My oldest son has Asperger's Syndrome and I also plan on doing the same. My daughter is a super diva and can be equally challenging, so I will give a few tips on how to tame a diva!

Any life experience can give you the insight or expertise on a hub topic. With a little research and a few cups of coffee I will win this hub a day personal challenge over the course of 30 days.

Hubpages Accolades

I was pleasantly surprised this morning to see that I received a hubpages accolade. This is my first week here and I already have 10 hubs. I feel so driven to suceed at this challenge and this was the extra little boost that I needed this morning to complete a few more before the weekend starts.

I reworked a few Squidoo lenses that weren't getting enough traffic. I brought them over to Hubpages to see how they will perform. They're the ones related to love and romance. I had them for over 6 weeks with no success. Hopefully they will do better over here.

Hub Challenges On Hubpages: My Car Payment

Before I even knew there was a hub challenge going on, I thought about my own personal goals. Right now I plan on making enough money to cover my car payment. Hopefully I will be picking up my new ride this weekend!

This past month I made around $200 for outside sources. I'm about $150 short of where I need to be. Hopefully I will reach my goals after the 30 hubs in 30 days challenge is over. If not I will be starting all over again until I reach it.

I still have alot to learn so please offer me your best hub advice and join in if you haven't already. It's been 6 days and I have 6 hubs already.... I'm going strong. Thanks for stopping by!

***** Update********* -  it's been two weeks and I already have 18 hubs! I'm ahead of schedule. Good thing, because I will be offline for two days while on vacation. When I return,  I hope to be refreshed and ready to finish this challenge strong.

The Outcome 30 Day Hubchallenge

Well, I made 20 hubs in 30 days :( Going on a vacaton really set me back. The good news is, in 30 days, I discovered a great community of writers. Everyone here is so nice and encouraging. So much so, that I'm going to start this challenge all over again. I hope I make it this time.

P.S- another great thing happened during my first thirty days. My hub " Love Letter Writing Tips " won a hubnugget award! It was so unexpected and if it wasn't for the kind comments left behind by fellow hubbers, I wouldn't have ever known what a hubnugget was! Thanks guys!
