Alcohol Does Exactly What It Is Intended To Do

Updated on August 13, 2013

What Does Alcohol Exactly Do ?

Drinking alcohol for some people can very relaxing after a long day at the office or out in the fields physically working and sweating your butt off.

Oh yes, I remember those hot days of summer building homes and pouring concrete in the heat of the summer, looking forward to the end of the day to crack open that ice cold beer. Those days are just memories now and I have learned to be able to work and sweat my butt off without the enjoyment of that ice cold beer, but many people are not so fortunate and they open that first drink and continue to drink alcohol until the alcohol does what is intended to do and that's to get you buzzed and drunk.

Alcohol does exactly what it is intended to do, and that is to not only relax you, but after too many drinks it starts to control you, your words and actions and gets you drunk if you can't control yourself and how much you drink after that hard day at work.

Alcohol does what it is supposed to do and it does a great job, if you call it great and only if you let your alcohol demons take over.

I Can Not Control My Alcohol Intake

Many people that drink alcohol do it in a responsible way and know when enough is enough, but then there are those that just don't know when to stop drinking, and yep, I was one of those drinkers. Never enough and the more you drink the more your body keeps asking for more. Not a good sign by any means believe me.

So many people that drink alcohol can not just have one or two drinks for the entire day and walk away. Those one or two drinks for them and myself were just an appetizer for what was in store for the rest of the evening and sad to say I was one of those that never had enough.

I can honestly say, I love to drink my beer and loved the effects that alcohol intended to give me, but I realized after so many years I just couldn't do it anymore. What a life right, drinking, feeling great, feeling like you are on top of the world and nothing bothers you. You are stronger and anyone that is sober or drunk. You feel as if you can hop in your car and ride the roads at 100 MPH without ever getting caught or crashing your car. The sad thing is, that this is how you feel when alcohol does what it is intended to do and to alter your mind and your thinking. So, as much as I loved my booze and still do, but just can't have it, I surrendered and and called it quits forever and now live a clean and sober life with no worries of what I did, or if I said something wrong to someone or just getting in my car and driving the straight and narrow sober.

If you feel these things while your are under the influence of alcohol and pretty much drunk, than you have a real wake up call coming your way in the future. Everyone, one time or another gets to this point in their drinking life. It's all a matter of time and then it will be your turn unfortunately.

Looking back in time I now can say I was very foolish as many of those that drink to get drunk. Sure once in a while people get a little carried away and get to the point of no return and passed out drunk. Things happen sometimes like this, but to do it day in and day out there is a real problem and we all know what it is. We are addicted to alcohol and just can't stop.

We think we are indestructible and nothing bad will ever happen to us. Well, I am here to tell you everyone has their day to face the consequences of over drinking and getting outright drunk. It may not happen in the near future, but in time over drinking alcohol and not drinking alcohol responsibly will indeed catch up with you and in so cases it will not be a pleasant sight and for some death will occur unfortunately either by auto or declining health problems because of what alcohol does to your body over time.
