Caravan Parks W A- What Makes a good park ?
What makes a Caravan Park Enjoyable ?
As a traveller towing a caravan around the countryside either on the trip of a lifetime or a short family holiday what are the key elements that a caravan park needs to have to make your stay an enjoyable one & recommend that park to others ??
Are you like us the where the first thing we notice after the boomgate or absence of one is the receptionist at the desk as we arrive after a long drive
If she / he greets us with a warm friendly smile and is as friendly as they look that is a great start to the visit to their caravan park and makes us feel relaxed & welcome!
A decent size caravan bay where you are not so close to your neighbors you can hear them snore is very important for your sanity!
If there is a swimming pool ( I mainly stay where there is one) then longer opening hours are good especially in summer!
We appreciate there has to be rules in the park, however some parks seem to go overboard where you feel you have entered a prison camp with so many rules and regulations & cannot wait to leave.
If there are keys for the toilets it makes life easier having our own key each as we found out after having to share the one key between us it got a bit annoying trying to work out who had the key !
Let me know what you like in a park to make your stay enjoyable and want to share the park with friends .

Perenjori Caravan park
If you are travelling inland up from Perth the 2 caravan parks I reccomend out of a few choices are
Traveling North the Perenjori caravan park is first , It is quiet and near the local pool which is important to me as it gets hotter , also just a walk to the local pub and IGA !
There is washing machines free to use , however there is a donation tin .
BB"Q s are free to use and there is plenty of open space for children to play.
There are plenty of spots you can pull in at if you prefer not to unhook the caravan for just the one night.

Morawa Caravan Park
Morawa Caravan Park
Morawa caravan park is a pleasant place to stay with a friendly atmosphere and is very close to town ,
There is a clean laundry which has washing machines available for use at $2 using 2 $1 coins.
A BBQ is available as well as the kitchen for campers
There are 2 Chalets available for families to stay .
It is quiet Unless it is a very hot afternoon and you can hear the children having fun in the pool opposite, however I normally go join them !
There is an IGA , Roadhouse , picture theatre , clothes shop , post office, bankwest , pharmacy and more all within walking distance !
There is often an event to attend and on Friday night we went to the local club for a meal & ended up playing bowls for the first time in my life !
Last night we went out to watch an evening game of football as Brad , Nev's work partner with S & K electrical was playing !
Ensuites for campers
Dongara Caravan Parks
There are a few caravan parks in Dongara , however I picked out my favorite of which I will be adding soon !
Coalmine Beach Holiday Park
We are heading down south soon and this is where we will be staying for a few days!
Watch out for the review coming late December!
It looks nice and I had a friendly voice on the phone so we shall see how we enjoy it!
I am sure we will as it has shade and is near a river!

Denham Caravan Park
We were advised when we reached Denham to go past the first caravan park we saw , along the foreshore to the end where there was another one !
Good advice ! We had 3 days there in cabin 5 which was clean & tidy , had a view of the ocean when we sat outside beside the cabin!
It was only a short walk to the beach & a pleasant park to stay in for your visit to the Shark Bay area.
The managers were friendly & helpful . If you had a tent or caravan at any other time then the sites are good for being near the beach & the camp kitchen is good .
Denham Caravan Park
Wintersun Caravan Park Carnarvon
- Ningaloo Lighthouse Caravan Park
We prefer to free camp however as you are not allowed to in this area & we needed power we chose to stay at the Ningaloo Beach Caravan park as it sounded good on the website . Always ask questions before you...
Coral Coast Caravan Park Carnarvon
Kimberleyland Holiday Park
For an enjoyable stay in Kununurra make sure you stay on the lakes edge at Kimberleyland Holiday Park with its reasonable rates - The swimming pool with a view of the lake and open long hours which is so necessary in the extreme heat up here -being able to swim after work when you finish at 9 PM is great !-
Enjoy kayaking/crocodile spotting etc while here ! It is a stroll along the lake to the shops etc
We are allowed to keep our boat by the water so it is really handy for us to go off and explore the lake .
I highly recommend this park for all these reasons and the managers are really friendly as they walk around the park, put on BBQ"S for everyone etc .
Update on Kimberleyland Holiday Park
Things have changed recently - We are no longer allowed our boat by the waters edge - All boats are being moved so it is not as convenient for boat owners now .
The pool is now open later & shut earlier so on those hot nights there is no cooling off in the pool much to everyone's disappointment .
However it is still nice with all the trees here and being by the lake .
How to keep cool!
