Creating Art Should Be Fun
73Fun Art For Me!
Art Is Fun - No Matter What You Create
Art creation is one of the most expressive things we can do and each persons art is totally original and deserves special mention, creating art is very creative and involves a lot of mixed media at times, but often the mediums you use are more specialized for each particular art activity.
Fun art activies usually start at a young age, I have fond memories of creating all sorts of things when I was at school, things like mothers day cards, Easter cards, calendars, face masks and many more.
I used to like making stuff, because there was such a mix of things that we created,we'd either be drawing one day and then making something the next, so I like to reflect back on my early school days when making things and drawing was more of an exploration for me,now I just draw and paint stuff and make the odd thing every now and then, although I have been inspired by other Hubbers to try and create some things that I haven't done in years like make cards.
Creating art through claywork I did twice when I was at college, and I loved it, although I wasn't a fan of firing up the kiln for your work to go in, because I knew that if you hadn't fixed some of the clay sculpture together properly then it could fall apart, but I loved the whole process of sculpturing with clay and it is something that I would do again.
Alot of people get stuck in creating certain types of things, for me, I've just gotten into a drawing rut where I seem to draw the same thing, and I put that down to not having the time to explore my creative side again, although I am trying to make the time what with this current hub challenge I am doing - 100 hubpages in 30 days!! I have a couple of experimental hubpages in draft, I just have to create the art to go with them and off, I go!
Creating any type of art should be fun, being serious all the time about it, just makes you seem like you aren't enjoying it, unless you're on a deadline because you do it professionally, then I could understand. I keep everything I ever draw or create, because it's nice to reflect on your artistic achievements or even failures, because it reminds you that you can do it better the next time.
I've recently toyed with the idea of creating a class to draw imaginative art for kids and this will include such vandalism classics as graffiti art and your momma wouldn't like it tattoo art, as well as comic book art and general illustration. I've always wanted to pass on my drawing experiences to those young enough to learn and pick up and build on their imaginative drawing.
Rather quite recently I have also made some preparations to write and produce a few ebooks on how to draw fantasy characters and creatures, as that is what I know a lot about, so this has been the best thing that I have thought about doing with my drawing.
The fun in creating art for me is to draw stuff I like and create it in mediums I would go and buy myself, web comics, graphic novels and how to draw type books seem like the obvious choice. As I still collect comic books now and love the medium of storytelling through words and pictures, plus they translate well onto screen and are popular too.
Creating any type of art is all about learning too, because when you start one piece of art you learn something from that piece of art that will affect another in the future, so experimental art works on many levels, as you experiment you gain an understanding of the media you use and the ways in which to apply it.

Is Creating Art Fun For You?
Cheers Nancy!
Got more drawings and stuff to come with this hub challenge, should hopefully have five more drawing hubs tomorrow....
I really like your sketches waynet. The graffiti art class might be a good idea because that is popular with many young people, and keeps them from vandalizing places. Instead, they can work on paper, or murals where this is allowed.
I remember when I left school I left all of my art coursework and others that saw it would say it was ace and the art teacher at the time left some of my work on the wall for a few years and they used to say that I should go into tattooing and all that type of stuff, but I was stuck in my ways of drawing comic books, but now I realise no one is limited to doing one type of thing....draw anything and create what you want!!
Great article, and good luck. Hope you can get that class up and running...maybe apply for a teaching job at Derek Zoolander's Center For Children Who Can't Read Good And Wanna Learn To Do Other Stuff Good Too. ;)
Good luck. I wish I could draw; I'm best at painting with words.
Thanks Ixxy!
I just like to draw, but then I like to write, so I could combine the two.....
