Picking a Margarita Maker

When looking to purchase a margarita mixer, you'll want to consider the following basic features and attachments before you purchase. You want to make sure that whichever margarita blender you purchase, you'll be satisfied.

  • Safety- First and foremost, it is important to consider the safety of the machine.
  • Dishwasher-Safe- Although, not everyone cares whether it is dishwasher safe, it is a deal breaker for some people. In many cases, the attachments and the bowl may or may not be dishwasher safe.
  • Size of the Bowl- The bigger the bowl, the more cups you can fill with one blend. Most margarita makers come with bowls varying from 20 ounces to 48 ounces, with an average of 36 ounce bowls.
  • Material of the Bowl- Typically, the bowl is going to made of glass, but some margarita mixers will have plastic bowls. The glass ones are heavier, but they break easier.
  • Colors of the Base- You can purchase different colors that match your kitchen decor. There are some frozen drink makers that come in white, black, and other various colors.
  • Attachments- Will the mixer crush the ice? That's a prime part of a frozen drink.
  • Features- Is there a display setting? Is there a pouring spout? How many cups can you pour at once?
  • Speed Settings- Some margarita mixers have speed settings that figures how crushed the ice gets and how fast.
  • Warranty- Is there a warranty? If yes, what does it cover? How long is the warranty?

Thanks for sharing, Whitney. I especially like the first Margaritaville Drink Mixer, but 700 simoleons is a lot of simoleons! I've been meaning to buy one being that it's summer and all...
