That is quite a change, isn't it? As long as public transpoprtation is very good, I guess I don't care about the weather very much - but I'd really like to live in California for a year and experience the intense heat you describe. Our weather is mushing together into one drab season some years. :)
I was born at Fort Monmouth :)
They should feel honored and give you a Key to the City, spryte!
I am a SoCal native all my life, so I am used to the really hot weather. Many people here do not like it and complain about it, but I suppose I just get cold easy.
Friends moved from Nova Scotia to Victoria Island Ca and wore shorts in the winter becuase there were acclimated to cold weather fishing industry back in NS. They moved back to NS several years later and felt frozen all the time. And some folks just feel cold all the time, no matter what, California is beutiful overall, I feel, though.
At least the key to the fort....now THAT would be fun :)
That is splendid Idea. :)
Monmouth is a great place! I'm glad there is a page that is justly giving monmouth it's props.

Sounds like a great place to live if you enjoy being near the ocean, but I think NJ is a little cold for my taste :). I am already beginning to miss the intense heat of the California summers now that the temps are falling below 80.
