Our kids need energy, you can provide them with their energy needs in a potato meal, which they'll like. nstead of eating potato chips, you can cook a variety of potato recipes with lower fat. Here are some recipes that kids like.
Be sure you don't give them too much of those meals :)
Golden Potato Balls
Ingredients
Procedure
Brush potatoes in water in a bowl
Rinse very well
Half fill a large cooking pan and place potatoes in water
Leave it to boil till it's cooked
Drain and peel the skin
In a skillet place butter and put it on medium fire
Roll potatoes in butter to become golden and having crispy shell
Add rosemary, salt and pepper and make sure they're all seasoned nicely
Potato wedges
You need
1 pound (1/2 kg) potatoes
2 tbsp olive oil
Rosemary
Minced Dell
1 tsp coarse salt
Procedure "Directions"
Brush potatoes very well in water and make sure the skin is very clean
Cut each potato to 8 wedges
Brush a cooking tray with oil and season it
Rub the cut edges in seasoned oil very well
Arrange in the tray and bake in a 400oF oven for 30 minutes
Stuffed potatoes
You need
2 pounds (1kg) small potatoes
1 pound (1/2 kg) ground meat
4 cups tomato sauce
cup diced onion
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/8 tsp nutmeg
2 tbsp oil
Procedure
- Peel potatoes and hollow it leaving 5 mm thick sides
- Soak potatoes in salted water for 10 minutes
- Fry potatoes in vegetable oil to pale yellow
- In a cooking pan, cook onions in oil to golden colour
- Add ground meat and mix till it becomes brown
- Add salt, pepper and nutmeg and mix well
- Arrange fried potatoes in a baking tray
- Add tomato sauce and reduce heat
- Cover the pan and cook for 10 minutes
- Stuff potatoes with cooked meat
- Divide the left sauce evenly among potatoes
- Bake for 30 minutes in a 350o F
