Hi Bruce, Thankyou for your visit and comment, I too share your dream, sun sand sea and the other "S" lol maybe a little lottery win will help me make it to one of these great destinations lol.....jimmy
We're sitting in a half foot of snow now and looking to get out. My wife is from Portugal, so I know she'd like to go back home eventually. I don't have a passport and would have to wait the 100 years to get one. Maybe Orlando for us this year.
Thanks for the nice warm hub!
We haven't any snow as yet Joe but the ice is about an inch thick here, thinking warm and sunny thoughts always did help me get through the winter months, hope that you get your passport soon.....jimmy
ps happy new year everyone
This is Great info, now it's quit surprising to know that Bulgaria comes FIRST!
Wow!
Jimmy! Great hub. It looks like each of those 10 spots has a lot of sun. I'm all for sun... We're having freezing rain here in my neck of the woods in Canada... give me warmth... I promise this time around not to complain about it being too hot I swear. (Only 11 weeks till the first day of spring)
regards Zsuzsy
Very interesting list and very beautiful pictures. I was fortunate enough to be in all of them except Egypt and Portugal. Always wanted to go to Portugal and hope one day will. Quite surprising that Bulgaria took a first place, I agree that it is cheap, but it is impossible to comapre the beauty of other places on your list to Bulgaria. But well it is very affordable. Thank you for a nice sunny hub.
For those who like Joe don't have a passport, check my 10 Must Visit Cities In The United States.
Jimmy, thank you for your hub. These pics are beautiful.
<sigh> so many places, so little time and money to visit them all!
Great hub! Those pictures sure look very inviting!
wow, most of these sure are not on my lists!
This is a great list Jimmy, but having priced up some European escapes we're probably going to stay in the UK this year. I can't believe how badly the pound is doing at the moment. Still on the plus side perhaps the cheap prices will attract tourists to our shores and give all our ace holiday destinations a bit of a boost!
WOW!! So many wonderful places. I hope I get to see at least most of them. Great pictures.
I spent two years of my youth in Gran Canaria (puerto rico). I probably didn't appreciate it in the same way as I would now. Personally I think Turkey will be the hot spot, for us Brits anyway. Due to the Euro being so strong.
Wow, what a great list! I snorkeled in Sharm el-Shaikh 15 years ago, and found the variety of marine life there absolutely stunning.
Haven't been to any of the other destinations (except Orlando) but hope to some day, if not in 2009. :-)
Jimmy
Useful, informative Hub and I'm surprised you didn't include your homeland - Scotland is a wonderful place to visit as long as it isn't raining!
Hi Rik thanks for your comment, I recently started a series of hubs based on a tour of Edinburgh, and hope to do more in the future about the many more places to Visit in Scotland.
Good hub! I heard flights from the U.S. to Europe have dropped considerably since last year. With the economy on a downswing, it might be the best time to do some things, like travel internationally, you'd been putting off. Good idea.
Dee Hubbing It Up

Geesh Im confused. First I learn how to crash a plane, then I come here to lay out on the beach.
If I had a choice Id visit Grand Canaria and get some new decorating ideas from the historic buildings. The different cultures all in one place sounds really neat and interesting.
Excellent Hub and all the efforts must be appreceiated.
