Seven Most Outrageous, Weird, or Bizarre Cell Phone Accessories From All Over: Metal Holster? Sweatershirt? Wrist Rig?
Introduction
The cell phone industry has spawned a whole subsidiary industry that helps you accessorize the phones, and in order to be unique, some of these accessories are downright, bizarre, as in "Who in heavens would buy that?" They vary from the functional to functional but in a strange form or color, to functional, but WTF?!
And we shall examine some of these most bizarre cell phone accessories.

Any way, enjoy the list...
Retro... what?
I understand the need for headsets, which are hands-free devices. However, what good is a headset that requires the use of a hand, and is LARGER than the phone itself?
Marvel at the availability of... old-fashion headsets, now available in a rainbow of colors, compatible with any cell phone with the universal plug, or get the Bluetooth wireless version.
Frankly, retro only works when it makes sense, but you can buy this now at ThinkGeek.
Flashing Cell Phone Pen, or Spy Detector
This RF detector picks up RF transmissions in the GSM bands so in theory, it can act as an call detector... whether it is your phone or not.
In other words, it can either act as a visual indicator of your phone's incoming call... or for detecting someone else had left their phone on and speakerphone on mute so they can relay the face-to-face conversation to someone else.
Good or evil? It's all up to you. Wonder if it works for CDMA phones?
Auto Seatbelt Phone Holder
Apparently some people thinks that holding your cellphone between your chest and airbag is a great idea, which is why they came up with the Auto Seatbelt Phone Holder.
The holder clips onto your seatbelt and holds your phone between your chest and your airbag, thus ensuring that if the airbag deploys, the phone will be crushed between your sternum and the airbag, leaving you in no condition to call for help, though at least you know where your phone is.
Sweatshirts for your Cell Phone?
Apparently the Japanese are very serious about their cellphones, and they have a TON of accessories for them, including sweatshirts, completely with a hanger (which clips to your belt or purse, apparently). Or you can lock the sleeves together as a clip too.
Four designs / colors available.
Cell Phone Telescopic Lens
Ever wish your cell phone have a zoom lens? Your wish is granted... sort of.
This version for the iPhone is a magnetic "stick-on" type. You put on this sticking magnet "ring" around the lens, so the lenses would stick to that.
There are also clamp-on types that supposedly allow it to be attached to any cell phone or smart phone. Adjust for optimal results.
As for how good it is, I'll leave it up to you to decide.
Wrist Cellphone Carrier
When a wrist-strap is not enough... SkyMall wants to sell you this wrist cellphone carrier, so you will NEVER lose your phone, as it's chained to your wrist, literally. According to SkyMall's description, this is also a fashion statement, and it saves space on your waist (no holster) and cannot be lost in your purse or pockets. Claims to be "extensively tested by active joggers, cyclists, skate boarders, fishermen, hunters and business people".
Apparently, you are supposed to be able to just get this out at the flick of the wrist, like Professor Moriarty's Pepperbox pistol, from Sherlock Holmes (2009). Okay, just kidding. You'll have to loosen the Velcro and do extensive practice, but I guess that would be really cool if you can do it. Too bad it'd only work on a flip phone, and in these times, people may not treat you kindly if you do a lot of practice.
Available in variety of colors, from that fashionable pink fake leather to black neoprene and somewhere in between.
Cell Mate
Instead of trying to explain it to you, please just take a look at the picture to your right.
Yes, that's actually a holder across the top of your head, stuck to the back of your cellphone which hangs it right next to your ear.
And before you say this MUST be a joke, something out of a Dilbert comic strip (but it is), this is real. They actually were at CTIA 2010. The interview is on their website, and it was confirmed by a CNET editor.
