Waco, Texas sits between Austin and Dallas along Interstate 35. Noted for a warm welcome to newcomers, the city is home to several new businesses and and abundance of jobs, 18 museums and the large Cameron Park with its nearby zoo. Its assocaited Metropolitan Statistical Area covers a large portiong of Central Teax and many counties.

As an archaeological site, Waco has seen dozens of mammoths excavtated as well as human remains of about 10,000 years old. The Local Huaco Native American Nation named Waco and were hunters and agriculturalists.

The Church Under The Bridge, Waco TX

South 4th & 5th Street Bridge

Another bridge, on I-35, is the meeting place of a Waco nondenominational church called the Church Under The Bridge (CUB). Services are held underneatht he bridge and attendees can receive a ride to church if they call by Saturday night. Begn in the early 1990s, the mission of the CUB began as ministry to the homeless and expanded to include everyone.

Blessings to you Patty for such a GREAT Hub!! I have a large extended family who live in Waco and LOVE it!! (I still have a tendancy to think of it as the Dividian Disaster!!) All graduated from Baylor!! They are fun loving, family oriented, community involved wonderful souls who continue to help make Waco a wonderful place to live!! What a wonderful thing to log in today and find your great testimony about Waco! It's good to have you visit and I'm glad to see you.

I remember watching many College Bowl types of TV quiz programs and seeing Baylor win most of them. I think Waco is a fine place!
