Which Make Better Pets Dogs or Cats?
It is time to set the record straight and answer the age old question, "Which make better pets dogs or cats?"
Dogs All the Way
When it comes to those who are preferably pooch lovers, dog owners will have a million reasons to tell you why dogs make the better family member. For example, dogs for one are more social animals than household felines. Also dogs overall build stronger relationships with their human counterparts than cats. Canines have evolved so that they live and breathe in unity with one another. Cats are just lone rangers, they might find your presence some-what entertaining, but all and all, domestic felines don't need people or other cats from a bonding standpoint.
Not only are dogs more loving than cats but as a fact dogs are of higher intelligence too. Thanks to the canine’s learning capabilities many medium dog breeds and larger dog breeds are great at protecting their families and befriending seemingly anyone in sight.
The old saying Man's best friend wasn't given to canines without reason. It’s because dogs are better than cats (some may say). No if, ands, ors, or buts.
Why Cats Make the Better Pet
People who will tell you that cats make better pets than dogs have very legitimate explanations of their own too. Like for one, cats are by far less needy than dogs. Most Americans now and days work long hours and just don't have the energy, let alone the time to properly care for a pooch. If you're not home to walk your dog, your pup will crap everywhere. If you're late coming home with a cat, there's isn't a huge honking mess to clean up.
Another bonus of cats is that they’re unable to bark. Cats don’t annoyingly disturb neighbors like dogs do. Cats won’t howl when you're not there for them at night as well... and the list goes on.
A Fifty – Fifty Tie
Now, let us not forget about those out there who equally love both dogs and cats. There are many positives and negatives that both pets offer, but you just got to take dogs and cats for what they are. Dogs and cats have their pros and cons. It's arguable to why dogs can make great pets for some and horrible pets for others and the same goes for cats.
Just like there's chocolate and vanilla. There are dogs and cats too; not everyone is going to like the same thing.
Which is "Your" Favorite?
So when all is said and done there's only one true answer to whether dogs or cats make better pets, and the answer simply is based on personal opinion.
Now, if you've ever read any of my other blogs I think that it's needless to say how I feel about the subject. I for one am a straight up dog loving gal. I just can't get enough of dogs, but hey, that's just how I feel about the topic.
