   What do you prefer ?
   Reading many books from the same author or many books from different authors?
   
   We often find many similarities, patterns, ideas recurring in many  fictional works by the same author.
   Do you find it boring or tiresome? In the case of reading books from different authors we come across different ideas, different experiences.What do you think about that?

   Good question! I always feel torn...there's just so many good books out there, and not enough time. If I find an author I love, I definitely want to read as much as possible by them. I used to do this all the time, with the main result being I'd read almost everything written by a handful of great writers, but was missing out on a lot of other work, and was somewhat averse to trying new things. Plus, after a while, I did find myself getting tired of the author or style.

   I have found that I had favorite authors. I read a lot of their books, but a writer often has one style of writing. Franklly, I got bored.  I won't touch a Dean Koontz or John Grisham and a few others anymore. All of their books are the same, after you have read enough of them.
   
   I like non-fiction the best.  It also depends on the topic too.

   I prefer reading many books all around because its important to read more. 'Knowledge is power.' In order to build on knowledge, you need to read more and before computers and the internet dominated much of what we read, it was the consistency for books that taught us from A-Z. Reading is the fundamental aspect to even consider picking up a pencil and start writing.
   
   Reading is tiresome, but something I can retire to when I feel like needing to sit down and relax. I avidly read the newspaper every moring as well as learning how to play sudoku which I learned how to play from reading the paper.
   
   Of course, different authors will come across differently with themes and elements of fiction and non-fiction because its there style to approach the readers, making it clearly authentic and more willing to read in order to generate the concept of understanding the different experiences.
   
   I think, at the end of the day, reading is the fundamental aspect to,.......wait for it........'learn, grow, and change.' In other words, as my former grade 12 english teacher put it best, 'progressive development.' This is just like the characters in the novel that you read about because its really the same thing in reality from learning to tie your shoe laces and getting up and starting to walk to towards that bright light(success) in your future.

   For me, it has to be about the topic and subject matter.  If I read one book I have absolutely loved I tend to feel somewhat disappointed by the next book I read by the same author.

   It all depends on the actual authors you choose to read.
   For instance, it is only natural that one would find reading only books written by Dan Brown boring after some time... However, if you choose to read books written by authors such as Tolstoy or Sholokhov, I guarantee you will never be bored...
   However, it all depends on your taste in the end. Generally, if I like an author, I have a desire to read more of his works and I try to do it

   I like to try a variety of authors. It keeps things well rounded. That said, if I do find one I like I tend to try and find everything that they wrote. Canyou really have it both ways?

   It really depends. I love variety, and luckily, I am a fast reader, so I can read a lot of authors. However, I am a little OCD about my reading habits. Case in point- I have a 13 page "To Read List" that I am checking off, because I need to read every book that ever won a Pulitzer Prize for Fiction/Novels, and I need to read every book written by my favorite authors. I'm currently alternating between the Sue Grafton Alphabet Series and the Wizard of Oz series. Both are so long and different that they really compliment each other. So the answer is both, depending on my mood. Sometimes, I'll plow through an author's work because I love it so much. Or, I might parcel them out like I do with Charles Dickens and Wilkie Collins, because they only wrote so many books and I want to save them as my special treats. I think either way is fine as long as you are reading good literature and enjoying what you read. I'm in love with diversity of ideas, and themes, but I also want to read everything by my favorite authors, because they are my favorite authors for a  reason.

   i personally love reading books from different authors to give me more knowledge how ever much they are similar but still i enjoy different ones.
