For those who have read "the screw tape letters" by C.S. Lewis,.. how did it effect you?

more to the point,... if you read the book,...(and if you didnt please dont jump on this just to rant on religion or beat up non-believers).. did it effect your spiritual outlook at all? did it change the way you look at personal inner struggles?

It reinforced what I've experienced in real life, except the part where believers' prayers strengthen angels.  I think angels/demons have whatever strengths they have (see Daniel 10).  Our prayer weapon, the sword of the Spirit, does tear down satanic strongholds; just not sure how.  Have seen over 207,000 specific answers in 32 years of keeping prayer journals, however.
    Good question.  Enjoy your day.

thanks for the great answer!,... i expected that for many it reinforced already held beliefs. for me it was a great analogy and teching tool,.. for believers or skeptics alike.

This book really made me evaluate the good and bad things that I do everyday. Especially the little things. It makes me want to be a better person.

I loved this book. Lewis really had to struggle with some personal demons to write it.

It made me take a hard look at my own mindset, the thoughts I was avoiding and the problems I was ignoring. It made me realize that I was relying on apologetics rather than faith and help me to come to the decision to back out of apologetic debates. It is an amazing book, I cannot get over C.S Lewis' genius writing.

i agree,.. C.S. Lewis is one of those writers who hid an amzing aray of info within a childrens story such the narnia series,... and tackled the issue of inner demons in a way that changed the way many of us practice self examination. great answer.
