Totally, life is poetry, I believe that myself, and you could pretty much express anything through poetry and still not hurt anyone because it's the best way to articulate one's speech...

I am not sure what you mean by ppl, but poetry, is indeed a reflection of life through the mirror of the soul. Most people are afraid to even read poetry (leave alone write it) and in time it got the reputation of being a hermetic form of expression. Good poetry is the most succinct form of creative writing, but by no means a word puzzle. The best poets of all times are easy to read and understand.
Poetry is not supposed to teach us much (in terms of practical knowledge) , but IT IS supposed to bring forward emotions that are touching our soul and makes us better humans and more inclined to see the vulnerable part of life as well as the beauty of it.

thanks for the replys, i believe poetry to be life's art ...
the masterpiece we find within our own self
i love to write poetry i have since i was really little
    and still do.
one rule of thumb for me if it doesn't come from the heart then what is the point?
p.s. i appoligize ppl is a short cut for writing people
i will need to jot that one down so my words are more understandable

    love C~

well yes it is a reflection but like anything from under the water it is refracted or skewed. The poet's job is to find issues that bleed, words that cut. Often ppl are apathetic, it takes a little jolt to knock them off their feeding stool.

Many of us face the same issues and the poet takes that experience of intense joy or sadness or hurt and codes it into words that are easily understood... well that is the objective anyway...

But mocking life is important too, people are only here for a short time and they become caught up in their own delusion of grandeur. The poet pokes fun at them and the establishment in a meme, a poem, a few words...a thing that travels from mind to mind like a virus... the only solution silence the poet... so when you hear of a poet being silenced run out and read their work... they are saying something important...
