Uhm, I think he's been dead longer than we have been led to recently believe.  After all, the President's birth certificate has been controversial, so what better way to deviate us from that than with a so-called victory?  Mmm...

Yes.  The president has nothing to gain by lying about this seeing as how the truth would be found out sooner or later.  His spike in popularity now won't last through the general election.

Yes, I believe that bin Laden is dead. It is just that, in my opinion, he died long before May 1, 2011, (possibly while G.W. Bush was still in office) and it was kept under wraps for various strategic reasons.

In fact, I suspect that is one of the primary reasons why former President Bush turned down Obama's invitation to join him at "Ground Zero".

I suspect that Bush knows that the Obama crew made the decision to "open the box" about the bin Laden killing at this point in time, and to take credit for it, solely for political gain.

Just look at what happened: Following the Republicans regaining the majority in the House and closing the gap between them and the Dems in the Senate, Obama's poll numbers tanked. Now, just a few days after it was reported that "Obama killed bin Laden", Obama's poll numbers are skyrocketing and the Republican's gains have been neutralized in many ways. Presently, the GOP is unable to mount any meaningful opposition against Obama because, after all, he's national hero.
