   Was high school the "best time of your life"?
   
   I remember being in high school and having people tell me that, and to be honest I am much happier now that I am grown because I have control over my life and less drama.  What do you think?

   A resounding [expletive deleted] no. I had fun in high school, got a chance to hang out with some friends, etc., but I was certainly relieved to be out, and have never wished life could be like that again. That said, I was living on my own through much of high school, and it was a profound relief to be done and be able to focus on work. Yep, I was career-building even then.

   I always though high school was best time of my life. But over the years I matured, and now I think we humans are little nostalgic about the past. In fact every moment of our life can be best time when we begin to love life.

   I think for many people high school would have been a great time. For me personally, I hated high school and couldn't wait to leave. I went to Nurse Training College about two years after leaving school and I loved it. But school? No! I think part of it was to do with some of the teachers - if you didn't come from any of the 'nice' areas where people had money - I came from a mining village - then they treated you like sh----!

   I sincerely hope that the best years of anyone's life were not in high school. How would you feel to know that things were as good as they would ever get when you were in your teens? That's depressing. Besides, now I have my own house and I can jump on the bed if I want to. Not to mention that as soon as I graduated high school, I moved out of state. I also don't talk to anyone that I went to high school with. I used to hang out with them non-stop because I was forced to be in their presence. Now, I get to pick who I interact with. It's amazing who you surround yourself with when you get to choose.

   well I agree with people.  Most definitely NOOO!  haha that said though it was a great time in general and I have a lot of great memories..  I hope to not jinx anything but right now is the best time in my life..  gotta keep it that way!

I had two amazing years, spent with friends I will have for the rest of my life, followed by two of what will likely always remain the worst years of my life (i.e., subsequent to a move out of the country).
   
   You learn, though. It was tough at the time, but life's been pretty good since, and you won't have very much to write about without a few battle scars.

   High school was fun, but I was just starting to figure out who I was and what I wanted. It was a good experience, but I'm wayyyyyyy happier and more normal (relatively) now.

    High school was terrible as we were all awkward and in the middle of growing pains. I much preferred college where I was still going to school but starting my independence as an adult and leaving cliques and drama behind.

    Definitely not! I was an outsider, lonely, never went on a date....Well, suffice to say it's a time I would NEVER relive.
    
    I have to shake my head every time I hear someone in St. Louis ask another person, "Where did you go to HS?" (I'm not from the area). They place such an emphasis on it and I suspect it is an easy way to categorize people by class. Obviously some schools are better than others.

    High school is one of the worst times, we allow peer pressure to influence us to often. As you grow older you understand that what other people think about you is not as important as what you think about yourself.

    Yes, absolutely. It's ironic how when I was in high school I couldn't wait to leave. Ever since I graduated I would give anything to go back to those times.
