Are you considered a person of race only if you're not white?
I heard a lady only the news use the term "Race v.s. White." Are white people not considered people of race, or did she mis-speak?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but usually whites are called the majority, while other races are called minorities. Maybe that's what she meant? I'm not sure any race can technically be called the majority, because the United States is so diverse. In my opinion, our nation continues to be a great big 'melting pot'.
During the civil rights struggles in America when Whites were in complete control so much so that when they marketed things like flesh colored nylon stockings or band Aides people of color were confused when they purchased these items because they didn't blend with their flesh and the choices were very limited. Sounds like she's using the terms that have been used in the past.
I guess it is a matter of opinion? Though that really doesn't seem right to me. White is just as much of a "race" as any other color. Really not something someone in the media should eb going around saying, egg shells people, egg shells!
Back up I want you to show me a white person because I have never seen a white person in my life. White is the color of copier paper, white rice, white flour, etc..
Personally, I am whatever some one else wants to call me.
That is my attitude because regardless of what some other person calls me, I have absolutely no doubt about who and what I am.
And what I am is a living, breathing and thinking human being, period.
The lady was mistaken. White is usually considered the superior race by many people, but in reality there is only one race, the human race. Their are no other races only sub groups or variations of the human race.

Recently I summit-ed a topic on the political site called (The Hypocrisy Of America). And I used the race card as the stirring stick, and boy was I surprise at the response. Over 200 hits. The real truth is that color or race has always been used to bring a wedge of deceit between cultures. This...
