George Washington could see what was coming when these political parties were created, do you agree?
Absolutely. Our Founding Fathers warned us against many things that we do today anyway. Politicians pretend to heed their advice and uphold the Constitution, but the track record of American politics says otherwise. Washington, Jefferson, and others warned that we should not adopt the two party system: As Jesse Ventura said "The two party system is fantastic. We get one more choice than Communist Russia."
The Founders also said that a centralized banking system would one day enslave the public if such a system were adopted. Andrew Jackson actually almost sent the country into an uncontrollable depression (though it recovered) when he disbanded the U.S. Bank (precursor to the Fed). For a very short time, the people were not controlled by bankers and the country prospered. Shortly after Jackson, the centralized banking system was again adopted and we now suffer under the reign of the Federal Reserve. Ever wonder why centralized banks are usually only implemented by communist and fascist governments?
They saw some of it, but I don't think they ever thought about the levels of corruption that have evolved. Although the early elections were often bought with drinks at the polls.
You have to stop and consider that things were very different.
Only white, male property owners were allowed to vote. They only wanted educated men to be able to have ins to government as well.
When income tax was first voted in there was a measure to limit it to no more than 4% but they dropped that because it was considered too preposterous to even bother with.
The world was indeed very different and our founders worked together, though they did also fight a great deal over policy.
They wanted government to remain very small.
"That which governs least governs best!" was a common thread.

Do you think we need more than two major political parties in the USA?Do you think the country would be better with more parties represented on a bigger scale?

I thought about this years back, because it seems like a lot of people vote for whatever their political party is voting for, even though they may not entirely agree with it. What's your thoughts? Do you think if political parties didn't exist that governments would be better off? With that said,...
