   I say no. People voluntarily give up their privacy when they use Google or any other internet service. Ignorance is no excuse when it is general knowledge that when you use services such as Google they track your activities in order to sell your (interest) to their advertisers.
   
   Do a Google search for, lets say Cameras and notice that everywhere you go from then on for days, the Google ads on the sites that you go to will be about Cameras. It is the most advanced form of business marketing in any industry. It takes over where filling out surveys and questionnaires used to be able to determine target markets for advertisers.
   
   People can simply choose not to use Google but the options are thin as everyone else is in on the game to a certain extent.

   No. It's all up to us to decide if we want to share any sort of information. It's our responsibility to hide, or better yet, not write anything that you might consider very personal.

   It seems like it.  When you can "Google" someone and find a map and aerial picture of their home - it does seem a tad invasive.

   WTF? What's  wrong with all of these answers? Perhaps you-all simply do not realize what Google really does - I suggest you all read the book; "Search & Destroy: Why You Can't Trust Google Inc."
   
   Why? One good reason is that if use Gmail, even if you delete  your email, Google keeps  (& scans!) all your email to a third party storage
   
   Another: if have voice mail, that is also recorded and  kept forever.

   I think so because of the photo of my house, here in Australia being on Google Earth - Street View. I don't know if Street View is in every country yet.  I can't see why close up photos of residential houses which are not in a business area need to be shown so closely on Google Earth. It's not just arial view.  You can see the front of my house, move across the road or next door, or in any direction, 360 degrees, it's like you're walking down the street.  I've written a Hub about my feelings about Street View, because I only became aware of it when an ex boyfriend found my house on there, without me actually giving him my house number, and was quite startled to find out about Street View. I'm not a fan, and believe you should at least be asked or told about your home being photographed, and given the option to 'opt out', which you do not have.
