Who are the ACLU who has filed a suit to end prayer from the military completely?

      Why should they do this?

The ACLU is the American Civil Liberties Union.

The ACLU claim that the US Constitution does not allow authorities to insist on citizens partaking in a variety of actions.

Under the First Ammendment of the Constitution there is the freedom to worship or not to worship any action which implies cohersion to act is  like a red rag to a bull with ACLU.

Worship in the US military is not a compulsory act. But there is a strong force who seek to limit the actions of those who wish to partake in religious ceremonies, technically in breach of the First Ammendment too.

      Thank you for clearing.
We have similar bodies over here, but everyone is sick of them interfering, and we are drifting back to common sense. Surely it should be up to the individual, isn't that what we have fought wars over in the past, for democrac

You all have a state religion. We have an explicit ban on one. The ACLU takes the position that any public sponsorship of any religious activity whatsoever, even its provision of chaplains to soldiers, violates that ban. Few Americans are so fanatical, but they're good at picking flaky judges who will give them what they want, so who knows how this one will end? There's a wide streak of insanity in US government. It may go along. It has before.

The ACLU fights for the civil liberties of Americans, which often means they are fighting for minority opinions or groups, such as non-Christians who want to uphold the separation of church and state.

They have not however filed a suit to "end prayer from the military completely". That is a hoax. The only objections they have is when the prayer is mandatory, but I still am unaware of them having any suits against the military.

Government speech should not favor one religion over another. Their position is pretty simple and clear and they seem to be consistent about it.
