Don't know yet. Nobody does. It's in the opening stages and there will be changes and tweaks and so on as it goes. There will be mistakes and victories. Trying to say what it will mean now is irresponsible and ignorant.
Thanx man I am seriously ignorant of the facts its like I havent been interested in polotics untill just recently and im 32 and have never voted!
What I believe about Obamacare is that it shall keep the cost of healthcare affordable for most all families.Opposition is focusing on our sentiment liken unto "don't let Obamacare stand between you and your doctor" and won't mention the rising cost.
Obamacare will raise the cost of healthcare. How else will we pay for the changes? No more ceiling, more people insured, and others. I went to a job interview and they told me "We won't be offering healthcare coverage until Obamacare is finished..
I agree bn9, cost will rise. They will tax, and inflate the money to pay for this. Govt doesnt have to compete because they are backed by the tax payer, so quality is low.
It means less competition in medicine, complete government monopoly with higher prices and lower quality care.
For people who can't afford it will have to pay a fine.
Government got involved in medicine 30 years ago by starting Medicare and Medicaid. Since then prices have increased drastically and quality has come down. That is why so many people are unable to receive healthcare.
Government solutions aren't solutions, they just minimize competition in the market place.
Before government was involved in the heath care business, almost everyone was able to see a doctor, costs were much much lower, and insurance wasn't necessary.
Government intervention in the market place is the main reason for our bad economy. This is what our founders fought for, to get government off our backs.
Government pushed there way into our lives and caused many problems, but people are looking for government solutions to problems that were caused by government intervention. Most people don't understand this. They believe the Capitalism was the reason and government is the savior.
right on the government MINIMIZING THE COMPETITION. government set up the way to let major corporation funnel the U S citizens money to them for campaign contribution. our government has sold out the U S people while we fighting over B S
Yeah, the government has simply ruined the lives of the elderly by providing some security in their old age. And all that money wasted on public safety, highway construction, civil rights, medical research, and such nonsense they waste money on.
They didn't ruin eldery lives. It helped some old people, but at others expense. Because they did this,it raised prices so people couldn't afford healthcare. The govt also stole all the money in social security fund. To pay they will print,&highr pr
health care for all and a too big to fail and very very wealthy health insurance industry. I just don't get making the insurance companies super rich instead of having the people pay a single payer state insurance to take the profit out of it to keep down cost
It means, though the law wasn't struck down by the SCOTUS, that Obamacare resulted in their clarifying the rule of the Constitution that the government cannot mandate the public to buy anything. Ever. Also, the government cannot withhold medicare funds to states who refuse to take part in the nationwide healthcare, leaving the states free to choose. Obamacare has also resulted in their clarifying that nationwide healthcare must be funded through taxation by the Congress--a fact the Democrates have been denying is the case.
I honestly do not know because i have not read that massive bill and all of the summaries and doomsday scenarios I have read have been contradictory.
Here is the bottom line. Today, health care is expensive and unttainable for some. I lost my group policy when I was fired from my last job. I used COBRA (company paid) for a year. Sometimes you can convert that to a private policy. I could not because our group plan did not write individual policies in Louisiana.
I tried to buy real insurance. As soon as I mentioned I was a Type II Diabetic, who takes no insuline or medication for it and controls it with diet, I was denied. Today, I have a limited medical indemnity plan that pays $300 a day for a hospital stay, 50 percent of the surgical cost and 20 percent for the anesthesiologist. If I should have a repeat of my colon surgery that I had 12 years ago, the cost will be well over $100,000. I do not have any idea of what I would do.
I do not know if I am going to like Obamacare. If it brings more healthy people into the group who pay premiums, but use fewer services, it might help us older people who have been paying their fair share of taxes for many years in addition to insurance premiums, co-pays and deductibles.
I do not know what is going to unfold. We will have to see how it is implemented and how the medical community reacts to it.

I have been listening to how the government has a billion dollars for getting people to sign up for the Affordable Healthcare Act. Would that money have been better spent training more doctors and building new hospitals? New Jersey has closed how many community hospitals in the last few...

They want to take more, but all of you retirees and soon to be retirees need to know that part of the Obama-Care plan is the following increases in the monthly Medicare fee; 2012= increase from 96.40 to 104.20 or 8%, then in 2013- increase from 104.20 to 120.20 or another 15%, and in 2014, after he...
