   Why do republicans lump anyone who doesn't agree with them as "the liberal left"?
   
   It seems anyone who doesn't agree with them, including some of their own party get called liberal leftists. Why? Personally I have been called a democrat several times on here even though I'm not. I've also seen many of my facebook friend's referred to as liberals even though they are not. Is "liberal left" suppose to be an insult, an uneducated guess, a person who believes in equality? What exactly if it doesn't mean democrat?

   Unfortunately, Republicans & Democrats believe that similar adherents ought to subscribe to specific party belief systems with little or no deviations.  However, Republicans as Democrats aren't monolithic in beliefs.  There are variations of Republicans from the Liberal/Progressive to extreme rightist Republicans.  Republicans are individual people with different perspective, outlooks, & beliefs.  Just because an individual Republican express different beliefs, h/she is no less a Republican.  As a Liberal Democrat, I have been called a right-winger because I expressed disagreement with the current Democratic/Liberal sociopolitical policies which I feel are hurting this country.

      So you ARE a democrat. I always wondered about that. Refreshing to see someone not stick to the "party rules".

   Because it's like calling them a traitor to the country. Only right wing republicans are real Americans and only they deserve respect. The rest of us need to sit down and shut up and let them rule. Any deviation from the program gets you smeared. Liberal left is code for Satan down under. Lock em up, throw away the key. "My America again." Free of the riff raff
