    Women who give others the middle finger in public

    Yesterday I received a call from a woman who felt bad about the fact that she gave the middle finger to some guy who did not stop his car when she was walking on a zebra crossing. We were discussing her uncontrollable rage and I was trying to give some advice to her on better ways to show one's anger or distaste for those kinds of men. Can someone help me out and recommend other things that might be more effective than giving the middle finger because it is illegal to give the middle finger to someone where I live right now.

    If one feels impelled to demonstrate anger or disapproval to strangers in public, just shaking one's head with a disapproving expression is sufficient to express it  (and it's legal, too.)  "The finger" is really rude overkill regardless of  gender, though I admit that driving rudeness provokes anger quicker than anything.  But then one feels badly for acting rude in return, - or at least I do.  Sounds like that woman did too.

    I always say, "Well, that was mean," when someone cuts me off driving (with the windows up).  It doesn't offend anyone and it helps me get my anger out.
