Would you get buried even if you are against it for the sake of your spouse?
I do not like the idea of bodies taking up land on earth. I have always been slightly disgusted with the idea of laying in the ground rotting. My husband on the other hand wants to be buried and we both really don't like the idea of me not being beside him. So would you get buried for the sake of making your spouse happy with it.
Yes, I will be getting buried in honor of my spouse's religious beliefs. I would much prefer to be cremated and not take up space in the ground, but I rather make him happy.
If it is my spouse, I am sure he will understand why I would like to be cremated.
No. I don't want a land-locked grave knowing that eventually it will be forgotton, paved over, and meaningless, even if it is a few dozens of years. I want to be buried at sea, let my kin go to the beach and say "hi" for as long as they remember me everytime they go to the beach or go to sea, themselves.
You can be cremated and then have your ashes buried beside him or vice versa. Funny I feel the same way you do about bodies rotting in the ground, it disgusts me and I have told my husband to cremate me.
But no, I would not be buried just to keep him happy. He needs to keep you happy too, so maybe he can compromise instead of you having to do it.
We have agreed to cremate when we die. Anyway, in Singapore is a place where we do not have too much land to spare. So cremation is always the best ideal case. Also when it comes to Feng Shui, burial requires a good place of facing direction and high ground in order to benefit future generations, therefore cremation will avoid the hassle of finding the right place for burial. When a person is cremated, it neutralize itself so will not be affect by Feng Shui to the next generation.
I do know that there really is not enough land for all bodies to be buried, thus, cemeteries are always buying up more land near by to add to the cemetery, so why not bury up? Visited an island that did this, buried in a casket and sealed in cement, families on top of each other....But to answer your question, I like the idea of not being burned, but buried. My husband is the opposite, so if it meant more to him to be cremated, I would. I know the casket thing is more for the living, as they need to say goodbye to their loved ones...it is closure for them. In the end, what does it really matter,as we will not be there anyway...

My Brother wanted to be cremated because he always d bugs. So that is what we did. How about you? For me I want to buy a piece of land and be buried there. No coffin. I would like a weeping willow tree planted on me so people could come and enjoy the shade.

I'm curious as to what people prefer to have done with their bodies after they die.I'd guess that burial is still widely preferred by most people but I think cremation is gathering steam. (No pun intended!) (That's a lie; it was intended!)Also, I know cremation has been forbidden by some religions...

My beloved 18 year old cat, Pokey, has almost died. We thought she had passed a few hours ago, but she is still holding on. What a tough day; my cat that I've cherished since I was a toddler is almost gone. Phew.My mother is bringing her to the vets tomorrow morning to be put down because we think...
