Both. Moods . . . inspiration and reflection arrives to me most anytime time of the day. I don't usually go looking for one or the other loving it most when one or the other reaches out and grabs me. I love them both most when cresting or in that shall we say nether region of betwixt and between. That moment when night becomes dawn and when dusk becomes night. I am captivated with the splendor.

I would have to say that I prefer sunsets. A sunset creates a calming effect  and also gives allows me to relax from a hard day.
As a photographer, I enjoy trying to capture the beautiful oranges, pinks, and yellows on the horizon as the sun sets for the day.

Both have significant merit. A Sunrise while hiking with my dogs hits me deeply in my soul. Likewise a setting sun in the west over the gulf brings a most wonderful peacefulness not unlike what I  experienced while comatose...

They're both beautiful to observe depending on where one is situated.
However I tend to want to sleep in and therefore a sunset at the beach is my idea of a romantic occasion.
Having said that I was once on the island Maui Hawaii and we got up super early (3 AM) to drive to volcano Haleakala to watch the sunrise. It was one of the most magnificent things I ever witnessed. It appeared as if the sun was coming out of the crater.
You drive away feeling as though you've witnessed a sort of miracle.
