   The phase the after life was an Eyptain belief .it was based that you continued to live in the under world .these beliefs are not the way of Jesus. When Lazarus the brother of Mary and Martha died and had been dead four days and longer when Jesus arrived. Jesus did not bring him back from such a place .he was released from his tomb or cave.
   Lazarus did not say he was in the underworld or he was in heaven with the Heavenly Father.
   Why would Jesus bring him back from a wonderful place of Jehovah. No he would not.
   But Jesus said that Lazarus was asleep John 11:11.
   He was not in the after life nore heaven but where he was burried in the cave waiting as Martha said for the resurrection hope. she new that he would rise and return to earth then.
   Many will live and walk into a New system under the Goverment of Jesus .that is what Martha was aware of standing by Jesus .
   John 11:24 ,  Martha knows her brother is not in heaven nor in a underworld.
   She says he will stand again on earth.

      There is an afterlife although we "sleep" awaiting!  I Thess 4:14 "For if we blv that Jesus died & rose again, even so them also which SLEEP IN JESUS will God bring with him." (v16) "...and the dead in Christ shall rise first."
      Hence,"afterlife!"

      May have a problem with word translations. Like in kingJ time the word use for stew is pottage.
      The hebrew and greek says the red.
      So this is a problem of who translates .
      Not that what is translated is false like your hub in chinese .are you real

      But the meaning is the same bowl of hot "something" as Christ hung on "tree," cross, wood, etc.

   Nope, there is no evidence for an afterlife. It's wishful thinking. You have one life and one life only just like any other animal on this planet. And you have to make the best of it, no second chances.
   Reincarnation is a myth just like heaven or Nirwana.

      Peter the problem is heaven exists .the space of where the sun moon and stars exist, and galaxies are in space called heavens .

      I was not talking about heaven as a blue sky, read the context. A rose is a rose and smells just as lovely by any other name.
      If you want to call the universe the heavens fine but that's a different concept then heaven the afterlife.

   Yes, philosophically speaking regard the mind with emphasis on the material (Physical) and immaterial (Spiritual). Of course therein enters the debates with dualism. A lot of gibberish.
   
   A way of looking at the question of an after-life is to accept for that to be so, then there must be life and a before-life. If only a materialist view is considered there is only a before-life and life. That is easily explained with you are experiencing life now and you did five minutes ago. Thus, a before-life and life.
   
   However, if wham cardiac arrest with cessation of brain functions, then life does not exist, therefore no after-life. Key is with that view the mind is simply biological and all thought is a result of cause and effect. If so, then there is not any original thought since all is an effect, even though each may have unique experiences in/with/of life.
   
   In other words one may have a unique thought, but not an original thought. To have an original thought the mind would have to be immaterial (Spiritual). In that case dualism is valid with veracity. I can conceive original thought does in fact exist, thus I accept there is an immaterial mind. Therefore, there is an afterlife in that mind form.

      A lot of ifs and strange conclusions. Every brain is unique, so why do you think a unique thought does not exist. I would say every thought how similar it may look is unique and impossible to repeat.

      The CREATOR said "He knew us before we were formed in our mother's womb,"; therefore, we existed (spiritually) prior to conception and will reconcile to the CREATOR (Spiritually) in the "Afterlife!"
      No IF's, And's or But's!

   Yes, otherwise we can not explain the differences in birth and life of everyone. What one sows earlier, he need to reap it later. In one life time it is not possible to undergo all the effects of past births. Hence they are undergone in portions. Once we are rid of all past effects, we are released from the cycle of births and deaths.

   Not really. It's a nice thought though but I'm not expecting anything and that way I'm not going to be disappointed. Anyone can believe anything they want to believe and that may make it very real to them. If the belief in an afterlife helps them to cope better in this life then it's a positive thing. But this life is the only one that we can be certain of so make the most of it and appreciate that it may be all we're ever going to get.
