The Best Ufc Fights Ever

Updated on May 21, 2023

The best ufc fights ever

I am about to give you an account of some of the best fights the UFC has ever seen. There have been some great fights over the years and what follows is a snippet of just some of them.

The sport of "MMA" or mixed martial arts has exploded in popularity in the last 2-3 years and one of the biggest organisations involved with MMA is the "ufc or ultimate fighting championships. UFC is the future of sport they have some of the most exciting MMA fighters in the world right now and there have been some cracking fights which have made the hairs on the back of my arms stand up.

Obviously, there are always going to be fights that other people rate higher than some of the ones I mention but I think every ufc fan will agree that the ones I list were exciting from start to finish. These fights are in no particular order. Enjoy.

Tim Sylvia vs Randy Couture ufc 68

44-year-old Randy Couture had been retired for over a year when he came back after announcing he thought the heavyweight division looked boring and dominated the 6ft8 champ, Tim Sylvia.

The fight ended with a unanimous points decision after Randy had twice dropped the younger champion. Randy was back and champion again.

George st pierre vs Matt serra 2 ufc 83

These two had met before at ufc 69 in George St Pierre's first title defence, Matt Serra wasn't expected to do much but knocked St Pierre out and he lost his title.

This was George St Pierre's time he had waited to be matched up with Serra again so he could get his belt back, and so they met in George St Pierre's hometown of Montreal, Canada for the ufc's biggest attendance yet at 22000.

The atmosphere was electric and formed the moment George St Pierre stepped into the octagon you knew he was going to emerge the victor. All hail GSP.

Chuck Liddell vs Tito Ortiz 2

The first fight was good the second even better especially after Tito had been mouthing off for several weeks about how he was going to put Chuck down this time.

Chuck came out all guns blazing and Tito couldn't deal with his punching power and got floored in the first round but came through just...In the second round came much of the same except this time he could cope with the power and the referee stopped the fight. Cracking

Forrest Griffin vs Stephan Bonner

Quite simply the fight that made the ufc what it is today. If none of you reading this have seen this fight then watch it now.

A 3-round stand-up toe to toe war with neither man backing down and both being awarded a highly lucrative ufc contract.

Everybody was on their feet and clapping at the end of the fight. This is the fight that made me pay attention to the ufc. Check it out.

Anderson silva vs Rich franklin

Anderson Silva-The most dominant middleweight champion and pound-for-pound best fighter in the world had only been in the ufc for a couple of fights before he took on rich "ace" Franklin for the world middleweight title and promptly destroyed rich so badly that he needed reconstructive surgery to his nose to have it put back in the centre of his face.

All hail the new world champion, Anderson Silva.

Diego Sanchez vs Clay Guida

WOW. That's all I can say about this fight that happened at the ultimate fighter 9 finale.

These guys had been talking crap for days and as usual, Clay came bouncing out all hyper and got in the octagon then Diego came out all intense as ever and started staring out Clay before he even got in the ring.

Then they just started talking crap to each other in the octagon. The stare-down was crazy intense and needed four stewards to keep them apart.

Then they were off, both of them run to the centre of the cage and just started throwing down, punches galore but Clay came off worse and they separated with Clay all bloodied up then from there on in it was just a vicious war with knees elbows and all sorts included.

If you haven't seen this fight, get the tape and watch it, the fight of the year contender.
