Designer Swimwear: Treat Yourself

Updated on June 6, 2013

So, you’re headed for the beach. Did you stick to your winter diet? Are you in swimsuit shape? Are you ready for the sand, the surf, the sun? If you are, maybe this year you should think about an upgrade. In your swimming suit, that is. Get rid of the old one you bought for 7 dollars and treat yourself to some designer swimwear. Sure, you deserve it! You’ll look fantastic!

There are many designers who make swimwear, both for women and for men. You’ll want to shop around some to make sure you get the style, color, and cut of designer swimwear that will flatter your personality and your body type. The little bits of cloth that make up a swimsuit have a pretty important job to fill, don’t they?

Designer swimwear may not be made up of much material, but it can make you look so good!

Makers of Designer Swimwear

So who are the big names in designer swimwear this year? For women, SABZ has some of the most stylish of bikinis and one pieces on the market right now. The swimsuit model known as Chains made by SABZ is beachwear at its most fashionable. The asymmetrical single top strap is a real eye catcher, as are the chain patterns linked around and across this flattering one piece designer suit. This swimwear offers moderate coverage.

Another top designer of women’s beachwear is Guess Swimwear. This maker has a diverse line of swimsuits available for this season on the beach. One of the boldest of the Guess Swimwear suits is the Risky Business bikini. As the name implies, the suit is brave and baring, with a spaghetti strap top and bikini brief bottom. And, as for the shimmering gold and red stripped pattern, you’ll be the brightest thing on the sand, never mind the sun!

For men this year, Suavage has a full line of designer swimwear in swim short, swim brief, and trendy board shorts. The Retro Surf Orange swim shorts are the height of hip for lying around in the sun, playing catch in the sand, or, of course, riding the waves. These designer swim shorts have a mesh inner liner and are made from a nylon and Lycra blend to dry practically before you even hit your towel.

For a hint of sophistication on the beach next summer, Sauvage also carries the day with their Black Linen swim shorts. What’s cooler and more comfortable on a hot day than 100 percent linen? These designer shorts have a drawstring to keep them snug while swimming, surfing, or horsing around on the sand.

Buying Designer Swimwear

You may be thinking, it’s still cold outside, the snow is on the ground, summer is months away, should I be thinking about a swimsuit already? Well, the answer is, why not? If you are dreaming about the heat, about lazy days in the sand, what better way to pick you up on a dreary winter’s day? Besides, if you shop early you might just get some great deals on designer swimwear. But where to shop for swimsuits? Here are a couple ideas, a few websites to check out while you are on your lunch break. Just don’t forget to punch back in!

InstyleSwimwear.com has one of the largest selections of designer swimwear on the Internet. They have scores of designer brands available for browsing in both men’s and women’s swimsuits. While you are shopping at Instyle Swimwear, you can even chat live with a swimsuit specialist to give you tips on fitting and options in designer suits.

Another nice website for designer swimwear is the aptly named Everything But Water store. Here you will find swimwear from such makers as DKNY, Vitamin A, Speedo, Miracle Suit, and other famous makers. A fun feature of the site is its celebrity sightings gallery, with the stars all out in their swimsuits.

Designer Swimwear Accessories

While you are shopping for your favorite designer swimsuit, don’t forget to check out the swimwear accessories too. The designers have a whole line of accessories, including wraps, hats, beach bags, and sandals. Make sure you are ready for summer by doing your beach shopping early. Designer swimwear will make you the hottest thing on the sand.
