   What is the best site to go to for domain names?
   
   I read that GoDaddy isn't the best option (can't remember why). What about hostdaddy or bluehost? Doiteasy.com? What others are there and what makes one any better than another?

   I use GoDaddy and it has been terrific. However, I don't know much about these other options so I don't really have anything to compare it to. I just know that GoDaddy has done an excellent job and their customer support has been phenomenal.

      Thanks for your input! Like I said, i can't remember why or where I heard that about GoDaddy. It's  good to hear that they do a great job. I may go through them. Some of the sites I've looked at charge more, too.

   I was going to pick godaddy for domain name, and another hosting company for a hosting plan, but it seemed like a hassle.. so I picked the best hosting company I found after a lot of research and reading reviews.. I went for arvixe.com, they will give you a free domain name with your hosting plan..
   
   please stay away from bluehost, I haven't found a single good thing about them..
   
   P.S when you read companies' reviews, I assure you - you'll find many bad reviews for each one of them, and that will drive you even more crazy; because you won't know which to choose.. my advise is, go with the one you see with equal good and bad reviews..
   I've looked all over the internet - hopeful to find a company with no bad reviews or at least not many, but that was just mission impossible!
   
   I was also comparing arvixe.com with another hosting company, as they were the best I found with equal reviews..  hosting24.com.. just to give you more options..
   
   To answer your question: if you are buying a domain name and a hosting plan separately, I would suggest to go with the cheaper one for domain name, but if you are looking with a plan as well, then I suggest to look at the two above..
   
   what makes a company better than the other? for the hosting plan, I would say, how fast they solve your problems or your down times..
   
   for the domain name, I honestly see no difference other than the price.

   I think, wordpress is better. You may also use godaddy for your domain name.

   I recently started a new domain name and I chose GoDaddy, partly because we used it at work and we always had great service and it isn't expensive. Also they offer a lot free technology and other services that make our online life a little easier.
   
   However I am using Google Sites as the actual site, mainly because it is free and offers all, well at least most of, the same functionality as other site building technologies. I easily configured my site on Google to use my domain at GoDaddy. It only took at 5 minutes to integrate the two together.

   GoDaddy is good mostly because its the cheapest, and they allow you to buy similar domains at a discount so you don't get people creating copycat sites. The only problem I've had with them is that since using them, they have sent me a ton of ads.

    Hi,
    I think there are a number of issues to think about when chosing a domain registrar - and which is cheapest is not necessarily the best as the difference in price across all registrars seems to be minimal.
    I'd say if you want to register a domain at cheap and reliable means I suggest you to go with http://www.thewebpole.com/  here the services all that they provide are best and reliable.

    I use GoDaddy. I've been using them for 10 years now. In the beginning I registered with NetworkSolutions.com until I found out what a rip off their prices are.
