If you don't have any programming experience you can try this http://www.amazon.com/Head-First-MySQL- … amp;sr=8-5 . It is whole series not only about programming and it is very good for beginners.

Of course http://www.php.net/manual/en/ is really good reference.

This book http://www.amazon.com/architects-Zend-C … amp;sr=8-1 is also very good both for beginners and developers that want to make Zend certificate.

If you are looking for on-line materials check out http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/PHP_Programming and http://devzone.zend.com/article/627

      Regards,
      Bialy

Looks like a great one to check out. Alternatively, to start off with - video tutorials on YouTube are a great help when it comes to PHP.
