Is it safe to Travel to Egypt?
Of course I know everything that is going on, and the attacks on the US Embassy in Lybia and Egypt. The attack from my view is perfectly reasonable, I would be furious too given the cause (the anti-Muslim movie). I plan to be in Cairo for the month of December, and while I have done so much research on what to do and what not to do so as to avoid trouble, it boils down to just down right asking the right people "is it safe?"
The attack and murder of innocent people over a movie is "perfectly reasonable"?
May karma give you what you deserve.
Their anger was justified. We could talk about all the death caused over 9/11 that had nothing to do with it as well, and it's been labeled by us as perfectly reasonable
Your profile says that you're a student of life. I think life would give you a failing grade. I hope karma is "perfectly reasonable" with you as well.
Because I think their anger is justified? Isn't wishing bad karma on a person especially over an opinion, bad karma in itself?
Interesting that you should say that. I said that I wished you the karma that you deserve. You interpreted that to mean bad karma, so I guess you have some inter conflicts to address. Peace.
Actually when one writes a not so nice comment and ends with that, there's the implication by the write that the other has done something wrong. I'm just following your implication. I've done nothing wrong but asked a question and stated an opinion
I would't think most people on here would be able to answer that without looking at http://www.fco.gov.uk/en/travel-and-liv … rica/egypt
Thank you I'd had a look at that site a couple weeks ago but it hadn't been updated for September. I've bookmarked it now
Hope it works out for you as it would be a fascinating place to visit , we are planning a big trip to Europe/Britain /Canada etc !
Neato! I used to live in north wales. It's definitely an amazing place to check out. Best of luck!
Dear friend,
Unless you have people you can trust in a country you can never know. There has been talk in the recent past that in Greece you may have a variety of trouble, but it wasn't always true. I looked through the internet for you and found this site I hope it's helpful: http://travelswithanineyearold.com/2012 … evolution/
All the best to you.
It's Sept. 13th in Greece 12:56 noon and I just saw on the TV news about riots that occurred in the muslim world (including Cairo) due to an American made film which satarises Mohamed. You'll just have to keep a close watch on what's happening.
Thank you for the site. I've book marked it.
I saw the riots too, we are definitely keepin a close watch. Thank you
My sister went there with a person who was very rich. The gated community had two levels. The underground for the workers, and street level for the residents. She boasted about how she never had to turn the handle of a faucet in the bathroom - someone did it for her. She was told NOT to walk alone - even in the gated community. Probably for religious reasons that would make that dangerous. It's OK to rape a woman walking alone because "she asked for it". The same thing Americans said when that woman was gang-raped in Central Park in NYC when she was jogging at night.
My sister was locked in a room to keep her from walking around, and to protect her from the guy's wife that brought her over to Egypt.
Do NOT wear short shirts that may expose your belly button. Even Egyptian bellydancers cover the navel!.
Have fun at the Pyramids! You get to ride a camel, stinky & they bite! If run over a camel with your rental car- be prepared to pay up right there and then. In that respect it's like Arizona. If hit a cow have to pay $2k for the cow and $2k for the potential loss of the baby cattle.
Always have a male with you - even if the guide is 8 years old. The sun is brutal, the sand is talcum powder fine and it'll ruin your face, so have a mosquito net like veil actually serves a purpose to avoid a wind whipped weather worn wrinkled dust lined face.
The other day was out in high noon swimming pool in Arizona and my lips and around my mouth got all red and swollen for WEEKS. And I had the old lady's wrinkles around my lips. Pretty nasty. Still very sensitive to this day months later.
SPF sunblock tend to make a person SWEAT. So bring huge cover like a straw hat, (no joke) polarized sunglasses. At the army surplus store the boonie hat has a pocket on top of the head that you can put a flexible bag of blue ice in to cool your head.
As long as you do your research and know what to expect you should be ok. Above all else, don't do anything that people and travel websites say is dangerous. People have been saying that Egypt is dangerous for many years now, there's lots of violence and a strong military presence, but a friend of mine went there recently and came back to tell me about one of the most beautiful trips he has ever been on (he has been to over 40 countries). Just be careful as you should in any country... make sure you are always being safe.
I'm definitely planning to keep up to speed on everything going on there. I also want to get in contact with people actually living there so I can find exactly what the situation is

Is it safe to travel to Mexico?I have heard that you can get arrested on trumped up charges and then you are treated badly and then put in jail where your family has to pay a lot of money to provide you with a cell and food.

I have a 23 year old nephew who is to all appearances a healthy happy guy. He is happily married to his high school sweetheart. They both recently graduated from college, are working, (she is a nurse!) and live in Colorado. He just had surgery to remove cancer from his lymph nodes and glands. In...

So many Atheists and Agnostics refute faith/religion with living by logic and reason. But, to be really honest, it is totally impossible. What do you say?
