    Have you visited any of the US National Parks?  If yes, which one was your favorite?

    My favorite is Great Smoky Mountain National Park, pictured here.

    My favorite was the Badlands in South Dakota. I sat with my feet hanging over the side of a cliff for a couple of hours pretending there weren't any other people in the whole world....

    Haven't been to as many as I'd like but Mt. Rainier took my breath away.

    I've been to a lot of National Parks, but Yosemite will always be my favorite. I used to backpack there for two weeks every year, right after school let out.

    Garden of the Gods ranks as my favorite in terms of beauty.
    Ones closer in my home state for accessibility.

    The environmentalists closing off state parks / federal lands for recreation are hurting themselves long term, because if people can't experience these sites, they won't appreciate it - or eventually care about their upkeep or maintenance as natural sites.
