I am a nothing from small town Pennsylvania who tries to be everything everywhere. The few who know me call me David or Dave, depending on their syllabic preferences, but you can call me whatever you like. Burt, Jevediah, Yngve, Gerald, Vladimir, King Funyun, and the silent 'Q' in REM. That'll get you started for now. By now, you might have already guessed that I'm probably insane. In all honesty, you're probably right and I am forever grateful for my instabilities.

However wacky I may be, that hasn't stopped me from continuing my education in writing. I'm a senior at Penn State University majoring in print journalism, minoring in English and theatre, and studying film on the side. I semi-valiantly served as the Penn State Lehigh Valley student newspaper's managing editor and production manager in addition to providing worthless information in an amateur journalistic style. I also critique movies every now and again. I was also the fall 2010 semester's editor-in-chief of the Lehigh Valley campus literary magazine and I'm struggling to stay awake as I write this.

My future has always been one of wild, realistically unattainable dreams that I pursue with a naive vengeance. Careers in writing, comedy, screenwriting, journalism, the sports industry, directing, photography, and teaching have all fluttered as UFOs across my Roswellian mind for as long as I can remember. I rely on undying optimism and stochastic encouragement to keep my future afloat.

I find inspiration everywhere. To me, the world provides everyone with an extensive list of literary possibilities. It's up to us to find them and construct the best possible combination of those possibilities.

Truth be told, I'm kind of a moron with the self-confidence of a wingless robin.

As far as Hubpages goes, I enjoy being able to submit my work and know that people (however few in quantity) are reading it and, every so often, voicing their enjoyment. Also know that if you follow me, I will follow you. I am something of a Christian and I believe that the golden rule should apply to online literature sharing as well.

One other thing... I've noticed around HubPages that all the decent Hubbers who have a lofty amount of followers and an enviable Hubscore tend to write about a broad range of topics. For instance, a really good Hubber might have Hubs about taxidermy, Swedish curling, instant borscht recipes, personal finance and some poems and funny anecdotes on the side. If that's what you're looking for, then prepare to be disappointed. Thoroughly so. All I have to offer are side dishes: inconsistent attempts at humorous stories and idiotically blatant and pretentious poetry. I would try to write about more topics, but trust me when I say that they would be mediocre and detrimental to my already dwindling potential lifespan. So I stick with what I know. And that is why I remain on the lower rung of this magnificent website.
