Welcome to my profile page on HubPages. Karanda is my pen name and was derived from an Aboriginal word meaning calm resting place. I have lived in five states and one of the territories of Australia and have travelled to many parts of this beautiful country. There is much on offer here from the tropical rainforests of Queensland to the rich colours of the outback and the vibrancy of the cities. I know there will always be something new to explore and share with the rest of the world.

My love of the written word has led me to realise my dream of becoming a freelance writer. My interests, passions and causes are many and varied and I'm sure you'll find this reflected in my Hubs. I am thrilled to be writing on HubPages.

HubPages offers a place to showcase your writing with a potential to earning money. The beauty of the site is the sense of community. There is always someone, a few clicks away, ready to chat and share their experiences and knowledge. The site is easy to use and has a great community of writers. Join now by clicking on the HubPages link. If you are looking for other places to showcase your articles, follow this link. Constant Content has clients ready and waiting to pay you for your work.

Click this link to follow the Dangerous Creatures of the Great Barrier Reef Series where myths and legends of the critters in the Whitsundays are put under the microscope.

Some of my favourite Hubs:

A true life love story of a lasting happy marriage - 56 years and still going strong.

Differences between men and women and how society has changed the gender roles.

Health issues for the diabetic. Type 11 Diabetes Symptoms and Risk of Kidney Failure for Indigenous Australians

No parent should have to face the daunting prospect of losing a child. There is light at the end of the tunnel that comes with acceptance. Accepting the Death of a Child - Life Beyond Grief was written in the hope of helping another parent through those darkest days.
