How to Get Started Fixing Up Your Newly Imported Hubs

Now that the Squidoo migration is over, many new Hubbers are turning to the task of fixing up old Lenses. We know it can be a daunting task, especially for those of you with many articles to update. Here are a few quick-and-dirty tips we hope will help you get them into shape as painlessly as possible:

• Check your Hubs for Warnings and Style Tips. Warnings are more critical than Style Tips, since they may cause your Hub to be moderated or unpublished, so focus on those first. Once you have addressed any warnings, take a look at your Style Tips and make the necessary changes.
• Become familiar with our Overly-Promotional Rules. If any of your Hubs are in violation, you'll want to edit them to be compliant ASAP.
• Make sure your Hubs follow the Amazon and eBay product best practices. Since Squidoo earnings were primarily product based, many ex-Lenses tend to be product heavy. The HubPages Earnings Program offers additional ways for Hubbers to earn money to offset the fact that we allow less products on Hubs, so be sure to take advantage.
• Make use of the Forums for help. Veteran Hubbers and HP Staff will be happy to answer any questions that come up during the editing process. We know it's a big job, but we're here to help!

Sitewide Issue Update

As some of you are aware, HubPages was experiencing some sitewide issues that began this past weekend. Thanks very much for your diligence in reporting bugs and your patience while we fix them! Our Engineering Team is working on migrating the site's data centers to a new location. The switch has allowed us to update to more modern equipment, which will give us increased room for future site growth. However, the migration also resulted in temporarily slow load times, issues with the Hub Stats, and intermittent missing images. Most of these issues are now fixed, and our engineers have been working long, late hours to tie up the remaining loose ends. Everything should be back to normal very soon. Thanks for bearing with us!
