Do Animals Go To Heaven
Dear God Is My Roxy In Heaven Now With Justin
Just recently I lost another loved four legged creature that was more then just a pet. She was part of the family. I have had pets throughout my life growing up, mostly dogs but now cats too. Some time ago I lost a pet by the name of Justin who I bonded to as an adult. In fact I bonded to Justin more then I had any other pet in all my days of growing up into adult hood. The only thing that gave me comfort is the thought that he went to Heaven. I really took his death hard. The more reason was when I found him he was in a large pool of blood.
Justin had a lot of life in him and he was so curious and full of energy that there were no room for mistakes when it came to him getting out. But this one dreadful night someone left the garage door opened and soon my Justin got out and what a waited him was more then I was prepared for. He got hit by a car...we were frantically looking for him but by the time we were notified he was already dead. It took me a very long time to get over it. That was about the time I begin to question do animals go to Heaven. To tell you the truth that is what got me through. Knowing that if they were in Heaven then my Justin must be there and is happy.
Just recently, I lost Justin's wife her name is Roxy they had pups together and Roxy lost her pups and her husband Justin, "how sad for Roxy" . Call me silly but they were a little family of their own. Justin was a full breed Corgi and Roxy was a full breed Shi Tzu both were an odd couple but they made beautiful pups together.
They were apart of this family. Now they are both gone. Just last week Roxy was put to sleep because she had Lymphoma cancer which progressed very fast and I couldn't handle seeing her suffer any further. So within myself I westled with the idea of having to let her go, but watching her suffer was even worse then my decision on letting her go. It was one of the hardest things I had to do. Roxy was a part of the family for over 11 years. I stood with her until her last breath. Now I am back to that same Question: Do Animals Go To Heaven?
Do Animals Go To Heaven
Will beloved pets go to heaven too?
What Does The Public Say
I have read that 43 percent of Americans believe that animals go to Heaven and those who are pet owners, that figure goes up to 47 percent. That left 40 percent saying that they didn't believe that they were going to Heaven well it left the rest reserving judgment without saying one way or the other.
This is a very tough question: I for one like to believe that they go there but in all honesty I am really not sure. That to me is the most realistic answer because we won't know for sure until we have gone there ourself. But I would like to give you the reader food for thought in my venture to see the possibility that they are there in Heaven waiting for us. Everyone of us who are pet owners can't imagine not seeing our beloved little creatures not be there in Heaven in a better place Right?
1. C.S. Lewis pointed out that animals' loyalty exceeds that of humans. In other words animals have remained faithful to the Lord from the very beginning, while humans rebelled against Him. Animals our faithful! Very Good Point!
What I think about regarding that comment is this: Animals are very loyal creatures but do animals even have a soul or a spirit? One person commented on this question and said: I believe that if they bleed then yes they have a soul and a spirit. One may argue on this point but being a Christian I like to observe what the bible says on the subject or does it even say anything at all, is the question??
In the bible it says that God created all living things for His pleasure that means animals too.
“You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and by Your will they exist and were created” (Revelation 4:11
Animals were create from the dust of the earth just like humans, animals were giving the same breath that humans breathe, but only man and woman were created in God s image. God gave us the responsibility of overseeing, protecting, and enjoying the rest of His creation.
God gave mankind the free will to choose and make decisions. Animals were not giving the ability to choose salvation or to be for God or against God like mankind are giving. So the plan of salvation isn't a animals ability to choose or exercise faith in accepting Jesus Christ. Remember the way of salvation is through Jesus Christ. His plan was to sacrifice His life in order for us to even go to Heaven we need to accept God's only Son. Animals don't have that ability.
Yet God created all for His pleasure. So Does Animals Go To Heaven again I ask??
The Bible says:
- Isaiah 11:7-9, "The cow and the bear shall graze; their young ones shall lie down together; and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. The nursing child shall play by the cobra’s hole, and the weaned child shall put his hand in the viper’s den. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain, for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD as the waters cover the sea"
- Isaiah 65:25, "The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the LORD."
So in the bible it does say that there are animals in Heaven. But it does not say that animals go to Heaven. Or it does not say that they won't.
We know that there are animals in Heaven but we don't know if ours will go there. A pastor said that he didn't see why not if God wants us perfectly happy and if being happy is seeing our pets there who were part of the family then the Lord would want us to be happy.
True: But then again we won't know for sure we really don't know all the details in what God has prepared for us until we go there ourself. I would love to see Justin again with his wife Roxy as far as pets go. But the bible doesn't give us those details, it does say that the Lord wants us to be happy and He has far more imaginable and beyond.... a plan for our complete happiness when we go there.
We just have to trust Him with that and what He has in store for those who love Him. He makes things all new.
The best thing we can do for our beloved pets is to love them and take good care of them. The Bible says, “No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly” (Psalm 84:11, NKJV). We can trust God that heaven will be a place filled with everything necessary for our happiness.
So with that being said God knows what He is doing. As I said before that I really took it hard when my Corgi Justin was killed it took me a long time to get over it. I saw him in a vision running and he had that same contented smile that he would have when he would see me. I would like to think that is God's way of showing me that he is happy and in a better place. Only when I go to that better place I will know for sure.
God will restore both
Just as animals were part of God’s untainted, original creation, so they will be part of the world and life when He restores everything new—without the corruption of sin and death.
