How do I get rid of slow and fearless raccoons in my garden?

They run amok and intimidate my cats at night.  I have three dogs who ignore them, I guess they've formed some kind of anti-feline alliance?....

If you cant fight them, join them and start intimidating your cats!
Im joking of course because I love cats.
Well, maybe, with time theyll learn to get along.

To discourage racoons, maybe you could set up some motion detector lights and spray strong perfume in the entrance to drive them away..

you could also try making a decoy such as leaving scraps on the other end of the property..

i know they are very persistent creatures..

I am originally from teh South, there we have trained coon dogs that we go coon hunting with, chase them up a branch of a tree shot em, take em home, skin em, clean em, and bake em.  Hmm, they are better than the finest sweet pork white meat.

Sounds like you dont even have to chase em up a tree so why not enjoy some free meat.

Raccoons sure are fearless! There are live traps that can be used, they are like cages, however I don't know where or how to release them after they're in the trap, I have no idea.  They seem harmless but my cat has gotten into a trap and his face did get a little scratched up when he was fighting to get out.  He never went into the trap again.

I've battled raccoons in my vegetable garden for years. Here is a Hub that I wrote about what strategies work best for keeping raccoons out of the garden: http://hubpages.com/hub/How-To-Keep-Rac … our-Garden

Maybe call Animal control?  They do have traps they can set for them.
