    my rat has bloated tummy, what is this? Also she seems to be losing weight?

    We rescued her just over a year ago and she had been bred quite a few times at that stage, we never bred her, she may be over 2 years of age, she was treated for a mammory tumor last April and operation was very sucessful, however I think maybe she won't be so lucky this time, her name is Isis, before we rescued her she was treated so terrible so we decided to make her a queen. She can't be pregnant because the male she shares with is neutered, we have never bred her. She has been very happy with us, she even has a shower once a week and has her hair dried with the hair-dryer.

    It sounds like you have given her a loving home. The bloated belly could be something associated with the tumor she had or it could be something new. She is at least 2-3 years old, if not older, which means she's elderly for a rat. If you could see a vet, I would suggest that. Otherwise, just make the rat comfortable.
