Not really recommended, catching a snake with our bare hands.
But I've seen a friend dot it on a hapless little cobra. The technique seems to be:
1. Approach the snake from behind.
2. Quickly grab the head, with your thumb firmly on top of the head and the rest of your fingers wrapped around the neck (or body, whatever) just below the head.
3. Wave the snake around in front of your friends with the beady eyes and bared fangs facing them.
I'm not sure if the 3rd step is necessary.
Good luck with your snake-catching adventure.
