Because we are human beings, the only animal who created feelings to cover their weakness?

Anyone who has a pet knows that they have feelings and that those feelings can run very deeply.

Nine years ago, I rescued a feral kitten approximately 6 weeks old.  She was near death; but, there was still a scrappiness present in her.  I nursed her back to health and we have been together ever since.

Since the day I rescued her, she has never known a day without shelter, food, love, playtime, or any other activity that she desires.  She acts like any other domestic cat when I am the only human in the house and she can be very aggressive when demanding love from me.  She takes her head and gives me very determined "love me" nudges.

However, if a guest comes over, she hides under the couch and will NOT come out for any reason.  After all this time, she is still scared that this new person will hurt her.

I have earned her trust over the nine year period; but, obviously the feelings from the abuse still linger.

Animals have feelings, they just can't express themselves like we do.

Thank you pippap for your opinion that deserve my best attention and that i respect a lot  but i'll ask you to read the better the question again - i have pets too (2 dogs. 3 cats,  2 squirls and a lot of birds). i don't say that the irrational animals don't have feelings because i know they have (the simple feeling of pain, for instance) - what i'm asking, in another words, is: do the irrational animals  invents feeeling's masks or camouflage to hide, as the situation demand, theirs weakness?
