    Hi, I used to keep leopard geckos. Do you have a heat pad? The heat pad should be left on 24/7 the heat lamp should not be left on at night.

    They really don't need a light at all. They are nocturnal, and don't really benefit from having light. You can do without the light period, as long as you use the under tank heater (which you really need to have whether you use the light or not).

    If you still want to use a light for the day scenario, turn it off. It doesn't need to be on longer than 10-12 hours.

    Leopard Geckos DO NOT lighting. Leopard Geckos are nocturnal (awake at night) and never bask in the sun in their native homeland. They get their D3 from the gut-loaded insects that you feed them with the occasional dusting of calcium with D3 added.
