    What are the treatment methods available for treating hernia-affected dogs?

    Surgeries? Implants? What are the types?

    Depends on what type of hernia, my dog has perineal hernia, and had undergone six surgeries, this type of hernia is a recurring kind and in time the muscles in his behind is becoming too thin, the danger sign here is when he cannot urinate, if the muscle is beyond repair, surgical mesh is needed as implant to the muscles.  we did not reach that far because Peso;s ailment became manageable..
    High fiber diet is necessary, and stool softener medicine..

    Other hernia that I know is the umbilical hernia, common to Shihtzu dogs...depending on situation this may or may not require surgery..
