Fish don't exactly sleep but they do rest. Many of them will lie at the bottom of the tank or in a corner and go into a restful energy saving state. If they don't go to the bottom they will often just float in one spot.
My goldfish tend to lie on the bottom or just float around at night when the lights are off. My green spotted puffers will curl their tails around their bodies at night and sink to the bottom to rest.
Fish rest on plants or by going at the bottom of tank or lake. They take short rest depending on the time of day. It's not exactly sleep.
