How much are your vet fees?

Just wondering if I'm visiting an expensive vet or not. The "annual exam" for a kitten was $45. Is that reasonable?

I am a veterinarian and I think for an annual examination $45 is very resonable I charge annual examination and vaccination of a kitten about $ 100. So I would charge that for consultation though in My country it could be more expensive since there are a few Vets

Depends on the animal, the complexity of the issue, the size/weight, many things.

I paid £62 for Boo a few months ago, after she pulled a ligament in her lower leg. That was for the consult and five days NSAID tablets. Before that - £46 to have her vet checked - weight, eyes, ears, heart etc, which was soon after we got her.

One of my cats cost me the best part of £1000 when he was injured after killing a rat. Abscess infection deep on the hip. Several operations, lots of vet trips.

Animals aren't just for life ... they're money munchers too smile
