Where does the snakes food go to?
Hey,Do you know where the snake's food goes after they eat it whole? I mean like their so long and not like us that dont have as many bones as we do.I was just wondering does it just sit there? or does like the acid in its body break it down?
Yes, it goes to their stomach where it is broken down. As if decomposes, the body helps mash it up (snakes have an incredible muscle structure). This is why it is not recommended that you handle a snake right after it eats. It can also happen to wild snakes that have just eaten. If they are disturbed and feel they need to get away fast, they will regurgitate it to get rid of the excess weight.
