I have a golden retriever and it is definitely the best dog I've ever had. She's the nicest and most playful dog ever! What about you guys?

I LOVE Goldens! They are amazing! I grew up with German Shepherds so I have a soft spot for them too. They are intelligent, friendly and faithful. They made me feel so protected!

I have two labs and I love the breed.  They can be hyper, but I love the drive and the general clowniness of the breed.  They are hard chargers and need room to run.  We also have a Leonberger and they are a gentle giant breed and have a very sweet nature.

Our dog is an English pointer and she's the best breed for us in rural S W France because she's independent, happy, energetic, child-friendly, full of fun and happiness. Not too big, not too small, short hair, no drooling mouth, fit and healthy. Quite obedient and very clever.

My favourite breed of dog is the labrador. They are a great family dog, wonderful with children and fantastic temperament. We lost our beloved Honeybunch (golden lab) last August she was nearly 15 years old.

At the moment we have a 2 year old chocolate Lab called MacKenzie and a 3 year old beagle called Coco.

Last year Coco's owners were looking for a home for her as they had no fences to keep her in. Coco is very affectionate but horribly naughty.

Our dog is a Japanese Spitz. We love her because she is so cute and so sweet! She understands me when I'm mad or sad and she likes to be cuddled always. She's an also effective guard dog because even though someone is just passing by, she will bark. As they say, this breed of dog is a big dog trapped in a small dog's body. Lol!

Yes. I have a golden retriever. She always seems to be smiling! She is friendly and playful but also warns us when things aren't right. She is very protective of us.

I have a Bichon ficher... Its like my best buddy... Its curly fur covering its eyes, ever so playful and hospitable.
I especially love it cool tricks of standing on its hind legs and its the first to alert me whenever something is amiss in my compound... Black piercing eyes and a warm personality... I call it 'Choppy'... You should meet him

The West Highland Terrier gets my vote for the best.  I had two of them.  They were both traned to be pet therapy dogs.  They didn't need much training, they seem to already know what to do.  The patients loved seeing them and they always enjoyed showing off what they could do. The two Westies we had  especially the second one was inseperable from my husband and myself.  Great companion dog and friendly to all.

Right now we have what we call a "Mississippi Mud Hound". She is part lab and part pit. My son brought her home from Mississippi because friends of his were getting transferred and could not take her with them. She is a good dog (sheds A LOT!!). Before her, we always had purebred boxers. They are very good with kids, very protective of their people. Like Josie, our dog now, they look mean but are just big lap dogs!!

I have a Stafforshire Bull Terrior named Spud! I love him to bits and believe that they are the best breed. Reasons why; they are friendly, dopey, loving, and they will give you all of their love!

People may dissagree and say the exact opposite but my advice is "don't believe evrything the media writes",

We've had German Shepherds for over 10 years.  They are very loyal and protective, yet goofy.  Never a dull moment with them!
