What Is ONE Creature That Never Made Sense to You?

With all of the odd creatures and animals out there, which one makes the least sense to you? Of course, every creature has its place. For me, the answer would be flies. UGH! But, as we all know, they help to decompose rotting meat/fruit/etc, giving them a purpose. Regardless of purposes, which creature do you choose???

Funny you said flies.  I was going to say May flies, which only live for one day.  But even May flies have a purpose, to be food for something else.

But because they're so annoying where I live, I'd have to say the mosquito.  I'm a mosquito magnet everywhere I go and after filling up with my blood, the good thing is they feed the bats.  I love bats, so I guess I am helping them out in my own way.  smile

    Hi Elf

I am going to award this to the Brown rat. I have thought, researched and found nothing that suggests the the Common Brown Rat has a purpose within the ecology.

We all know rats help scientists, but that does not concern the ecology. If the common rat were to become extinct there might be less disease about, but that is it.

    Voted down the RAT

Hmmm, well, rats are scavengers smile they also control insect populations! I raised pet rats for 11 years, definitely love the domestic variety. Rats are big survivors, able to outlive tons of things. Allows them to eat remains & be prey as well!

Duck- billed Platypus. Why? Were there some spare parts left over after other animals had been made? smile

The creature that makes the least sense to me are spiders. I have thought several times why they have been created by God. Actually there is nothing good that we get from them. More over they make me feel so afraid too.

Ewww, Possums. They are so ugly and sharp teeth and has one ever been a pet? I doubt it. What were they created to do?
    Then there is the mosquito!
